You can ask us to remove the details you sent, or simply stop writing to us. Both are fine.
Information you give us
Smart Web Controls is a blog. Reading posts does not require an account. The main way information reaches us is the contact form, which has fields for Your Name, Your Email, Subject, and Your Message. Name and email are marked as required so that a reply can actually reach you.
How that information is used
Submitted details are used for one purpose: reading your note and responding to it. A message may be quoted back to you in a reply. If a post you commented on is later retired, the associated message may be retired with it.
Posts that mention other sites
Articles on this site sometimes link out to reviews, product pages, and other independent websites — for example, pieces on backup services, watches, or home appliances. Those destinations run their own privacy practices, which this policy does not cover. It is worth reading theirs before you hand over anything there.
Cookies and standard logging
Like most websites, this one may store small files in your browser and record ordinary server details such as request times and referring pages. This supports basic site function rather than building a profile of you.
Keeping things proportionate
- We ask for the minimum needed to answer a question.
- We do not ask for payment details anywhere on the site.
